why blog?

hoo yah. im on a roll here. 2 posts in 2 days, well, this blogging thing is really getting a hold on me. yeah right.

but, seriously, the act of gathering my idea (although on a website that no one reads) is really.. interesting. call it self-preservation. consider this: i had a talk with a person that has a job of travelling all around the world and meeting other people. i think he had been to, like, dozens on different countires, each time staying for a couple of years, before being posted to another country.

interesting job you might say.

so anyways, we talked abt how busy a year it has been for me, meeting a couple of distinguished people, got my five minutes of fame, and juz living the moment.

now, this fella, being in his late 40s, has been to a lot of places on this planet, living the life, and had his share of entertaining VIPs. he told me, "i think you should write a diary about what you've been thru this year."

me, i was like, "huh, really? i did have a diary but it's.. only a few pages full." all my diaries are like that. a couple of pages religiously written everyday for 3 days from the 1st of january. then down the rubbish chute it goes.

but of course, i have had only 2 diaries in my 20+ years of life.

"yeah, you should keep a diary and write down the important moments in your life." important moments??? sounds sooo.. Hallmark.

he continues, "you know, like where you've been, who you've met.."

i said nothing. i think i had this disinterested look on my face at that moment. you know, like when pple are saying something that might bore you, and you really don't know what to say, and you wanna keep a certain invisible distance between them so they do not start barrage you with personal questions that you are obliged to answer. go for the disinterested look. it almost always works. (thus, the page title).

he goes on, "you know, sometimes, when i read a news on the paper, or watched a tv show abt a place.. i can't recall whether i've been there."

and he ain't that old.

ok, then the talk goes on abt how he wished he had a diary and so on. oh, im boring myself just writing this.

my attention span has ended. so, in summary, i guess what im trying to say is:

1. i don't wanna forget anything good that happened to me.
2. it's self-preservation: well, sort of.
3. i wanna have diary but it's high maintenance. a blog is a lazy man's way out.
4. i always wanna write a book in another parallel universe. consider this as fulfilling my subconcious dream.
5. what diary? it's for everyone to see! hey it's anonymous, ain't it?
6. stop wasting your time reading other pple's rants!
